Several celebrities have begun donating substantial amounts to help India fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Touched by the pain and suffering of migrant workers, Sonu went out of his way to arrange transportation for them. From Karnataka or UP, Sonu doing everything possible to make sure that everyone reunites with their family!
On previous occasions, he also helped provide ration and meal kits to stranded workers, donated more than 1,500 PPEs to doctors in Punjab, and offered his hotel for healthcare workers.
Shah Rukh Khan
Bollywood’s favorite actor Shah Rukh Khan has also been busy. He lent support to the healthcare workers in Maharashtra by providing them with 25,000 PPE kits. He has also urged people to provide donations for strays during the lockdown.
Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has donated Rs 3 crores to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). In addition to this, he has donated Rs 25 crores to PM’s relief fund (PM-CARES).
Popular Indian fashion designer, Sabyasachi Mukherjee, has also joined India’s fight against COVID-19. He has donated Rs 1.5 crores for the cause. Additionally, he is also urging people to purchase “Made in India” products to help the local industries.
Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma
The power couple Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli stepped up and donated to coronavirus relief efforts. Virushka has donated Rs 3 crores to the PM CARES Fund and Maharashtra CM Relief Fund. Apart from that, they have also donated Rs 5 lakh each to provide financial aid to Mumbai Police personnel.
Former Miss World, Priyanka Chopra, has made donations to PM-Cares, UNICEF, and several other charitable organizations. Moreover, she is assisting students in adjusting to virtual classrooms amid the Coronavirus crisis. Clearly, she is more than your Met Gala cover girl.
